2005 was a defining year, when Vipingo Ridge in Kenya offered David the biggest job of his career: the chance to design two courses on a 2500 acre estate near Mombasa. The project was a huge success, helping him find his niche as designer of choice in East Africa, with five other projects either completed or under way.

David became Ireland’s only ‘Master’ PGA Professional in 2009, in recognition of his contribution to golf, and he was further recognised by the Association in 2015 when he was made an Honorary Member. He is a Director on The Board of The European Tour, where he serves as Chair of the Nomination Committee.

David has completed a total of seventeen golf courses in Kenya, Turkey, Tanzania, Finland and Ireland, not counting the many redesign projects he has also undertaken, mostly on ‘home turf’ in Ireland. He is equally at home working to improve a green or two at a small members club as he is taking on huge tracts of land in Africa.

He is currently working on projects in Kenya and Turkey.
